Congratulations PGA Junior League Golf All Stars: Baci Golf Team of Boca Raton, Florida!

Just a quick post to say congratulations to the PGA Junior League All Stars from Baci Golf Team in Boca Raton Florida!  The team competed AND WON on August 11-12 at Eagle Ridge Golf Club near Ocala, Florida in the PGA Junior League Golf Southern Regional Championship.

The PGA Junior All Stars have earned a spot at the PGA Junior League World Series championship. The PGA Junior League Golf Championship will be played on September 14-16, 2012 at Cog Hill near Chicago.

Nationally, more than 1,800 children ages seven-to-13 competed on 123 teams in 22 cities. Teams played regular season matches throughout the first part of the summer before convening for city championships. The winning team from each city joined all-star players from their league at one of five regional championships held Aug. 4-5/Aug. 11-12. The five regional champions, along with the host region team (Chicago) will advance to the World Series, less than two weeks before the start of the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club.

The 2012 PGA Junior League regions and 22 markets include:
Western – Los Angeles, Calif.; Phoenix, Ariz.; San Diego, Calif.; San Francisco, Calif.; Sacramento, Calif.
Southwest – Dallas, Texas; Kansas City, Mo.; Houston, Texas
Mid Atlantic – Myrtle Beach, SC; Atlanta, Ga.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Raleigh, NC
Southern – Tampa Bay, Fla.; Clearwater/St. Petersburg, Fla.; Naples, Fla.; Boca Raton, Fla.; Macon, Ga.
East –Washington, D.C., New Jersey Shore, New Jersey Central, New Jersey Western
Host – Chicago, Ill.

The southern region champions team included players from Baci Golf Team from Boca Raton, First Tee of Boca Raton, and Indian River Golf Foundation. The Baci Golf Team players, led by Captain and PGA Professional Rusty Bacigalupi contributed significantly to the win, including low score by Michael Checo (12) and Matthew Glenn (12) and a par 5 eagle by Dylan Glatt (10) and Justin Cao (11).
